Pirelli Acquires Brazilian Natural Rubber Supplier
On July 5, Pirelli Tire announced that it would acquire Brazilian natural rubber manufacturer Hevea-Tec for approximately US$23 million (approximately RMB 167 million) and plans to increase its production capacity.
This move could lay the foundation for Pirelli's sustainable development in the coming years.
Founded in 1999, Hevea-Tec is considered the largest independent processor of natural rubber in Brazil.
The deal is subject to antitrust approval and is expected to close later this year.
Once the deal is finalized, Hevea-Tec will directly link Pirelli to sustainable rubber production and sourcing, further advancing Pirelli's sustainability goals.
